NEW UPDATE

we wanted to shoot a quick message out to let everyone know that we are now not going to chicago but philadelphia. i got a call late today and was told that facility can help and treat me so off we go still just a different direction.

please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. we are still suppose to be leaving tomorrow but due to the change in location i have been warned it could be a day or so longer. I have been alright with that so far since i know they will try to help but i think tomorrow morning at 10 when they call me i will know for sure how i feel if they tell me it's on wed. like it is supposed to be.

love,
ellen

Ellen,
T-minus 2 days until your BIRTHDAY!!!! Julie Sandwich beat me to it but I was JUST thinking about your 21st birthday. Those memories (although NOT funny at the moment) still make me laugh today. Oh and here's another one......falling through the glass table on Spring Break in South Padre Island. Next, proceeding to call your mom at 5am to tell her about it. Then, being on the beach that day with 13 band-aids on your backside.
Well, now you are in Philly and I hope Ryan can keep you close on your birthday so we don't have anything more crazy happen to you. I love you and I am constantly thinking about you. I hope you have a great experience in Philly and they can get you to return home feeling good! Take care.

Hi Ellen! Hope you are starting to feel a little bit stronger each day.I am sure it's hard to believe, but from what I've been told, and seen my mom experience, you will feel better and get better a little each day. Although it's easy for me to say since I am not the one who feels yucky and is sick, I hope that you and Ryan can continue with your strength and positive attitude. Remember that when you need me, I am here, and so is my mom ~ no matter the time of day or night!!!! I am thinking of you and Ryan everyday! Love, Morgen xoxoxo

Ellen and Ryan,

Please find comfort in knowing that God loves us all deeply and completely, regardless of what happens to us here on Earth. I went to church to pray for Ellen today and I prayed with my deepest conviction for her, and I was embraced with a calming feeling during my prayers, which made me feel as if God is watching over Ellen specifically.

It may be incredibly difficult and nearly impossible to understand why God would put Ellen through such terrible pain, but please remember that we cannot understand His plans. I will continue to pray heartily and steadfastly in the days to come, and I encourage all who read this to send up their most focused and sincere prayers of hope.

I am thinking of you both with a heavy but hopeful heart.

Ryan,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I am so sorry for your loss, please accept our deepest sympathy. I am sorry I never got the pleasure of meeting her in person. She was an inspiration to many. I hope you find peace and comfort in knowing your love helped her through her struggle and will always be with her. May she rest in peace.

I am so so sad! I miss my friend very much. I miss El's smile. In a tearful moment I asked my mom, "why did God take her now and so young??" She said that even though we all prayed for Ellen and we wanted her to stay here with us, He needed her more. I guess I find solace in that, but you will NEVER be forgotten Ellen. RIP and know you are so loved and missed by many.

Ellen,

We will all miss you. You have educated so many as you bravely fought the cancer. Your love and concern for everyone was apparent to not only those us us that knew you, but to all that you touched-through the blog or through friends and family. You were so strong and brave, and I know that you are in peace and pain-free looking over us now.

Ryan, thank you for being El's Rock. Your devotion and care cannot be matched. You are so special.

We miss you more than words could ever express.
Jen

Can't you just hear Ellen's voice in these words from a song by Rosanne Cash: "And I'll be watching you from above, cause long after life, there is Love.

Ellen,

It is still hard to believe you are gone. I will always cherish the memories we had together during the high school years, college years, and post college years. I can take comfort in the fact that I will see you again someday....until then, I love and miss you!

Todays service was a beautiful tribute to a beautiful young lady. May we all learn from Ellen to be so brave, loving and giving to others. May God bless, bring peace and comfort to Ryan, Suzy and to all of Ellen's family.

Ellen,
Is it as beautiful there as we imagine? I'm sure you're back to your old self... smart, kind, generous and stubborn. We are thankful your pain is gone, but we can't help but to be sad because you're not here with us.

You have touched more people than you will ever know, and united hundreds of us across the miles.

What a tremendous person you are to have accomplished so much in such a short time. We are all so blessed to have you touch our lives this way.

We miss you terribly, but we'll meet again sometime.

To Ryan, and your families... You were so lucky to have her. She was just extraordinary in every way, and may God comfort you each time it hurts to remember. You know she's up there raising heck, and looking down on all of us with her beautiful smile.

XOXOXO, Bekee

I pray knowing that Ellen knows that many of us check in cuz knowing how things were was a part of our daily life. I believe she knows that we think of her often and that we are all praying that Ryan will be able to start a new life, a better person because of Ellen and with a different perspective on life for having walked along side the love of his life. Ryan, I'm sure there are so many moments, hours and days of being lonely as you cherish all those special memories. May you be filled with the strength that God gives each one of us to carry on each day determined to make the most of the life God has given each of us.
Ryan, you are still a part of our daily thoughts & prayers.
